Synopsis: Three more grizzly tales from acclaimed author and TV producer Jamie Rix. Wolf Child is about a boy called Garth and his younger sister who gets all the attention, so decides to pretend he is a baby. The Fruit Bat features a girl who looks like a potato and hates fruit. Her parents try to trick her into eating fruit. The Clothes Pigs is about a demanding child who leaves his clothes all over the floor to everyones disgust. All three protagonists get their comeuppance by being consigned to the Hothell Darkness.
Review: Continuing from Grizzly Tales – Nasty little Beasts Part I, these stories are again read by Rupert Degas who has read many audio books such as, Philip Pullman’s Dark Materials trilogy. He has also performed in over thirty radio dramas and comedies including the new series of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and has most recently starred on stage in The 39 Steps at the Criterion Theatre.
The final story The Clothes Pigs has featured on CITV. Complete with atmospheric organ music, gruesome imagery and deep-throated cackles, The Grizzly Tales humour will captivate children. What is so distinct about these stories is they never have a happy ending. The message conveyed is grizzliness is out there. Every child has the makings of mischievousness, and can be lured into committing dastardly deeds with disastrous results. Ideal for Halloween.
