Kiss Good Night, Sam

Synopsis: It was a dark and stormy night on Plum Street. In the little white house Mrs. Bear was putting Sam to bed. “Ready now, Sam?” she asked. “Oh no,” said Sam. “I’m waiting.” What can he be waiting for?

Review: Who can resist the soothing, repetitive cadence chosen to share the adventures of Sam and his Mother on Plum Street? The warmth of these illustrations and gentle text never fail to charm whether this is your first read or your hundredth. Sam can’t go to bed unless something he is waiting for happens, so his mom goes through their bedtime routine to figure out what’s missing. This is a peaceful glimpse of one household’s bedtime comforts, and no doubt the reader will recognize some of them.

This edition also comes with a cute DVD containing the animated story, which is narrated by Adjoa Andoh.
