Read & Respond Activities based on The Twits

The Read and Respond series provides teachers and support assistants everything needed to share best-loved children’s books. They can be used with the class or in small groups. Each book contains speaking and listening activities, photocopiable texts for shared reading, guided reading notes, extended writing projects, photocopiable plot, character and setting activities, differentiation advice and assessment guidance.

Review: I like this resource. There are nearly fifty different books covered by the series spread across the whole primary age range and more being added. The ideas suggested can easily be used in the classroom with very little pre-preparation. There are step-by-step instructions on how to use the activities and some excellent practical ideas for differentiation. The structure of the book is closely matched to the old literacy strategy but, meet all the requirements of the new framework. This series still contains everything a teacher needs to teach a classic book that should already be available within school.
