100 Ideas for Teaching Writing

100 inspirational ideas for teaching writing is designed for both Key Stage Three and GCSE English teaching. Ideas range from developing an understanding of the writing process, assessment, general ideas, to setting interesting and engaging tasks and each one has been successfully tried and tested in schools.

A valuable pocket book resource for both newly qualified and experienced teachers, this book can provide a basis for lesson plans or a spring board for other ideas. One particularly interesting task is the balloon debate, where characters from a class text are hypothetically put into a hot air balloon which is about to crash and pupils have to justify a characters position in the book by explaining who should be thrown out of the balloon.

Highly recommended for all English teachers and is an ideal resource for Primary School teachers to gather literacy ideas from as well.
