| Mr Big |
Mr Big is so big that no one sees the real him. They see a big scary gorilla to avoid. Lonely Mr Big finds a piano all alone as he is and takes it home. Music drifts out of Mr Big’s window and captivates the whole city. The mystery pianist accepts an invitation and hits the BIG time.
Review: Narrated by a monkey from a jazz band this simple tale of finding friendship and acceptance is told with style. Eye-catching colours bled right to the edge of the page create a cool jazzy look. The dark solid mass of Mr Big is contrasted against the lively cartoons of smaller characters giving Mr Big a really strong presence and star quality.

Mr Big
Reviewed by lydia, 2008-09-25 I won this from Writeaway: thanks! I read it to my new reception class (I am an NQT) and we all really enjopyed it. The children were really engaged; the pictures are funny, they loved the little speech bubbles ('dig that groovy beat' etc!) and they were able to empathise with Mr Big. We followed the story with a dance to some jazz.
