Flood and Fang: The Raven MysteriesFeatured

Nobody likes a sticky monkey… As self appointed Guardian of Otherhand Castle, Edgar’s alarmed when a nasty looking black tail slinks off under the rhubarb plants, kitchen maids go missing and the castle begins to flood.

Flood and Fang is read by Martin Jarvis, who has also made audio recordings for Just William, P.G. Woodhouse and Jeffrey Archer. Martin Jarvis is brilliant as the narrating raven called Edgar, a sulky, old know-it-all ‘guardian angel’ who lives in a cage in Castle Otherhand. The introductory music sets the scene by being eerie and funny at the same time. The characters names and the whole setting are perfectly gothic. This audio recording made me laugh out loud from the very start and would be ideal for playing to the whole class.
