A brief history , in pictures, of Nessie. This is a reissue of a 1996 book which tells the story of the legend of Nessie- the Loch Ness Monster from the movement of the earth's tectonic plates to the present day. Each double page spread is is full of fascinating information depicted in straightforward but engaging colour illustrations - drawn in a slightly cartoon style but realistic enough to be interesting and reward some study. The description and pictures of the depth of the Loch - taller than three Big Ben's or five jumbo jets wingtip to wingtip - makes the huge depth of water imaginable. The reader is left to draw their own conclusions as to whether Nessie is real or not: this book just reports the facts of the various sightings and tales throughout history - all with their relevant dates.
Reception and KS1 pupils will enjoy this book as well as learning about Scotland's national legendary creature.
