Artemis Fowl and the Lost Colony

Synopsis: In the fifth book of the series, Artemis pairs up with his old nemesis, now comrade, Captain Holly Short, to track Minerva Paradizo (a female version of his old-self) and rescue the demon she has captured before the time spell dissolves completely and the lost demon colony returns to destroy the Earth.

Review: This version of Artemis Fowl and the Lost Colony has been abridged by Kati Nicholl and a lot of the back story covered in the book has been cut. It is skilfully read by Adrian Dunbar who adds depth to the characters with his variety of accents. Dunbar has appeared on television series such as Cracker and Tough Love and films such as My Left Foot, The Crying Game, Hear My Song and The General. The story compares well with the previous four novels in the series. It is abundant with witty one-liners, high-tech gadgets, exhilarating action-sequences, and amazing plot-twists topped off with a brand new set of enthralling characters. There is even a love interest!
