One Duck Stuck

Synopsis: “Down by the marsh, by the sleepy, slimy marsh, one duck gets stuck in the muck, down by the deep green marsh. Help! Help! Who can help?” Find out in this rhythmic, counting tale full of animals who are willing to come to the rescue.

Review: This story seems to have all of the right elements – a lyrical text, bold illustrations, a host of animals, a dire situation, and lots of fun noises – but the storyline is not what will keep young readers engaged with this book. Wondering who will come and help duck next and words like “spluck” and “clomp” will, as will the exciting green, gold and blue illustrations.
