Synopsis: Soup is yummy. Worms are Yucky. See what else is yummy and yucky.
Review: A basic opposites book, comparing the tastes and textures of everyday objects. Baby’s face is drawn expressively throughout, clearly showing which page is yummy and which is yucky to all looking at this book. My only reservation with the book is that some of the “yucky” pages are particularly yucky and rather unhygienic. Bogeys, earwax and cat litter are not items that you would want your little ones to try for themselves. Hopefully though, the fact that baby thinks they are yucky will be enough to discourage such experimentation. That aside, this is a fun board book that can be enjoyed with toddlers again and again. The word play in the opposites means it reads aloud particularly well, and the bold illustrations are effective from a distance when used with a small group of pre-school children too.
