Environmental Art

Synopsis: 23 exciting projects link art and display to a variety of environmental themes. Themes include Funky Fungi, The Dream Tree and Make it with Magazines.

Review: This useful book contains a wealth of ideas linked to the environment. It is divided into four sections, Using Found Materials, Inspired by the Environment, Recycle Recyle Recycle and Art in a Public Place.

Each activity contains clear resources, approach, photographs and further activity ideas. Within my school we have been particularly inspired by the Recycle Recycle Recycle activities and are looking at ways to incorporate these into our curriculum themes next term. It is amazing the amount of things you can do with an old plastic bottle!

All activities are appropriate for the 4-11 age range. There is also variety in the activities with some being suitable for individuals whilst others could be used across the whole school. This is going to make a welcome addition to any staffroom bookshelf.
