Well Done, Little Bear

Synopsis: Out in the woods, Little Bear is showing off: climbing on rocks, hopping on stones, bouncing on branches, until . . . splash! Luckily, Big Bear is always there for him, to help if he’s needed.

Review: Anyone who has ever felt a child depend on them can’t help but feel a warmth towards this endearing tale. Little Bear can clearly count on Big Bear, as is demonstrated time and time again, and that message is reinforced through to the very last word of text. The gentle watercolor images nicely match the mood of Big Bear, who is calm and supportive, and the exciting desire of Little Bear to go exploring embodies that of every curious child. Part of the Little Bear series, and originally published in 1999, this is already a classic.
