Little Red Train's Race to the Finish

The Little Red train is under threat. The Swish Train drivers have challenged Duffy Driver to a race. The winner will get to use the line and carry all the passengers, so down goes the flag and off go the trains. Little Red Train is left far behind as the Swish Train shoots off down the line. But worse is to come, there are problems on the line, will the Little Red Train and Duffy Driver ever reach the finish?

The Little Red Train stories are must read books for all young fans of Thomas the Tank Engine and friends, they are also great for older fans of Ivor the Engine who may recall some similar stories from their own childhood!

The  detailed illustration tells far more of the story than the text, which is the way that picture books such as this should work. The text guides the reader to examine more closely the illustration and piece together the story for themselves.

In this book the Little Red Train is out to prove that new, sleek and fast as the Swish train may be it is not necessarily the best and with the help of his ever faithful passengers he sets out to win the race. It seems however that the drivers of the Swish train are not so confident of their own ability for when the obstacles on the line crop up they can be spotted by the eagle eyed reader in the picture! This is a story about good triumphing, about team work and about trying your best. There are important messages for the reader, there is a nail biting race to follow and there is much humour. There are the all important train noises to be made and there is a plenty of excitement.

An action packed,  intricately illustrated book for train fans and all young readers.
