Elmer and the Big Bird

Synopsis: When Elmer realises that the birds are being frightened by the big bully bird, he comes up with an ingenious solution which will rid them of the nasty bully for good.

Review: Everyone’s favourite patchwork Elephant comes to the rescue in this new adventure. Elmer’s concern for his frightened friends shines through. With Wilbur’s help he finds an innovative solution for dealing with the bully and demonstrates that underneath bullies can also be cowards. Although on occasion the text is a little stilted, the story is a good length for pre-school children and is very understandable and entertaining. With plenty of detail in the illustrations, this book is bound to be a hit.
