Another winner from the creator of "Don't let the pigeon drive the bus!" Pigeon finds a hot dog, and can't wait to eat it, but there's an annoying duckling who wants to know what it tastes like...
"It's a taste sensation! Each morsel is a joy, you really should...wait a second, this is MY hot dog!" Abbreviated a bit, this extract gives the idea. Duckling is just curious, he says, but Pigeon feels besieged and becomes more and more exasperated by Duckling's questions, until clever Duckling has an idea...and they have half each. Pigeon overreacts in a rather American way "Can you believe this bird?!" (Mo Willems writes for Sesame Street), and the words get bigger and bigger as he shouts at Duckling, but this is really good fun, and will be good to read aloud. The illustrations are simple, with no background at all, just the characters and their speech bubbles, but the style suits the story well.
