This time Mr Croc  has to guess the  objects responsible for each of the noises he hears. A combination of flaps and tabs reveal the objects. There are clues to encourage guessing and a repeated refrain, 'What's the noise Mr Croc?' to invite the young reader to collaborate in the storymaking. The onomatopoeic sound effects add further potential for interactive reading

The latest Mr Croc story from Jo Lodge is bound to entertain. It's a colourful and appealing book and  the size is just right for sharing. the flaps and tabs are robust enough to withstand enthusiastic little hands.

It's a pity  then that an old-fashioned phone is used with the accompanying sound effect 'Bring Bring'. Not many phones look and sound like this today and in a book for babies and toddlers, it's a lost opportunity not to include an example that encourages real aural and visual observation. That niggle aside, these Croc books are well-deserved favourites.
