Each page invites us to guess who the textured paw prints belong to, before checking behind the flap for their owner. While eager little hands tend to mean that flaps soon became detached, the ones in this book are fairly robust. A mirror behind the flap on the last page is opposite little hand prints and is a lovely touch. The pictures provide plenty to talk about and the animals are instantly recognisable. With just a small amount of text on each page, this is a perfect first book.
