Synopsis ‘Soft-to- touch with simple clear images labelled to increase a child’s vocabulary- truly a first book for your baby.
Review Happy Baby ABC is a sturdy board book and the small size makes it easy for little hands to handle. Each page shows images starting with different letters of the alphabet, and the use of photographs makes it easy for very young children to recognise the pictures. There are lots of familiar images to talk about and the photography is excellent.
However, this is a book which is over ambitious. The back pages ask us to match the letter to the toys (which are baby toys), and then say what letter certain objects begin with. This is superfluous in a book marketed as ‘truly a first book for your baby’ . The book works very well as a first book for babies and parents to share and will help with language and recognition, but the level is too young for children learning the alphabet.
