Synopsis: What is your favourite place in the whole wide world? This little boy loves his bed! It'd springy, bouncy and full of secrets. Sometimes it's a dark cave, sometimes it's a noisy jungle...but it's always the beginning of an exciting adventure! Where will he go today?
Review: A little boy’s favourite place isn’t the kitchen, where he shares burnt toast with his dad, or even watching television with mum – it’s his bed. Here his imagination can run wild. His bed is springy, bouncy and snuggly, and lots of friends live underneath it. These chums can be very noisy at times, but they all love to go exploring together. Dark caves can lead to exciting jungles with colourful parrots, exotic foliage and lots of bright butterflies. When it’s a boat the friends can watch unusual fish – until a giant octopus comes to spoil the fun. Finally, a sleepy little boy snuggles down for the night, happily thinking of all the exciting adventures he can have tomorrow, possibly a hunt for a hippo or a trip to the moon.
This book has just a small amount of text on each page, which fits well with the imaginative illustrations. These offer plenty to talk about, making a good picture book to share, either one-to one or with a small group.
