One Two Three Pull!

Synopsis: The chicken is trying to pull a nice juicy worm out of the ground, but it's not budging. So she enlists the help of the rabbit, but the two of them still can't do it. Soon the wholebarnyard is helping her pull, when...

Review: In this new take on the traditional tale “The Enormous Turnip” a hen has spotted a juicy worm in the ground, which despite her efforts will not come out. She enlists the help of her farmyard friends. Initially a rabbit pulls the hen, while the hen pulls the worm with no luck. A rather large perspiring pig joins in to no avail and gradually various animals lend a hand. Finally, with the help of a rabbit, a pig, a dog, a cow and a horse the hen manages to pull the worm out with a plop. The animals all land in a heap – but does the hen get to enjoy the worm?

Children will enjoy joining in with the repetitive text, and will love the illustrations of the cheery animals, particularly when they collapse in an exhausted heap at the end.
