Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Script Yorkshire trustees, we are able to offer Script Yorkshire members a whole day’s intensive workshop on three- act play structure for ONLY £10 (£25 non-members). Whether you write for stage, radio, film or TV, understanding three- act structure is a basic part of the professional writer’s toolkit, infinitely adaptable to any dramatic situation.

The workshop will be led by SY Trustee Gary Brown, supported by fellow trustees Michael Stewart and Ben Jancovich , all of whom have volunteered to donate their time. This is why we can offer this fantastic workshop, led by vastly experienced theatre and playwriting professionals, at such an incredibly low price. Participants will be invited to bring the first 15 pages (double-spaced) of a script a long with them to work on.* Because of the intensive nature of the workshop we are able to offer only 18 places in total – three groups of six people. So book early to secure your place.

The Sheffield Branch continue to meet monthly reading script extracts offering feedback and discussing future branch projects.  The next meeting will take place at the Lyceum Theatre at 7pm on 3rd November. SY York: Next Meeting: Script Factor Night: Wednesday 26th November at 7.30pm, City Screen Basement Bar.

The fourth script reading evening from the SY York branch is currently accepting submissions of 20 minute scripts. The script extracts will be read by the York Settlement Players, with the chance for the audience to vote for their favorite reading at the end. Everyone is welcome for this great night of new writing at City Screen, ticket available in advance from city screen or on the door. News from York: There was a good turnout for the last formal meeting, Sam Freeman from York Theatre Royal was also in attendence as the group now discuss a winners Script Factor night to be shown in the Studio. There are also plans for next years literature festival already in the pipeline. Script Yorkshire is a registered charity.  The Script Yorkshire management group meets every two months in central Leeds.  This is when the officers, advisors and trustees of the company get together to take decisions about Script Yorkshire.  The next meeting is scheduled for:
