The story goes like this............
Once upon a time there was a little girl who
looked like an angel when she went to Sunday school.
Although she didn't know it, she was destined to become a writer.
Maybe that's why she was always day dreaming instead of listening to the teachers.
One of the things this kid liked doing was going
to the seaside. 
Luckily when this picture was taken there wasn't many people around to see
she had her knickers tucked inside her dress so that it wouldn't get wet
when she splashed about in the sea. She loved the sunshine, the sound of the
ocean and the feel of the sand between her toes (although not in her sandwiches)
and later on would write about these things in several of her books.
At school she was still dreaming. Her teachers
despaired of her. She always
stared out of the window, thinking up stories in her head. Teachers wrote in her report
'she could do much better if only she would concentrate!' Later on, though she did
learn to concentrate and lots of those dreams became stories...
