Teachers know that a visit from an author sparks children's interest in books and motivates writing. These visits are often amongst the most treasured experiences that children have in school. Unfortunately. budget and geographical restraints can limit the number of visits that can take place and in some cases costs may be prohibitive. However, Children's Authors TV have produced 6 DVDs in which children interview authors in their own homes so that others can intimately enjoy the company of some of their favourite authors and illustrators. The 6 authors/illustrators are Anthony Browne, Anne Fine, Jacqueline Wilson, Jane Ray, Nicholas Allan and the Anholts. This is an ideal resource to support Bookweek or indeed an Author Study at any time of the year.
Extensive teachers' notes with creative teaching suggestions for each DVD are available for free download from the Children's Authors TV website. To find out more and purchase copies visit the website. www.childrensauthors.tv
