Michael Rosen IS the new Children's Laureate. The announcement was made  earlier today at BAFTA in Piccadilly. Rosen is bound to be a popular choice with children and adults alike, and it would be hard to find a more deserving recipient of the honour. A tireless campaigner for children's literature, reading and the arts, Rosen is the ideal champion for children's poetry. It is to be hoped that his laureateship will provide the impetus for renewed attention to this neglected area of children's publishing.
