THE QUILLS AWARDS ANNOUNCED PDF Print E-mail

Image Brian Selznick and David Wiesner have won the children's catgories at the Quill Awards it was announced from New York yesterday. Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, and Rocco DiSpirito presented the Quill Award in the Children’s Chapter/Middle Grade category to Brian Selznick for his book The Invention of Hugo Cabret, published by Scholastic Press. Jeff Dunham presented the Children's Picturebook Award to Caldecott Medal winner David Wiesner for Flotsam. Also honoured were Scott Mcloud for Making Comics:Storytelling Secrets of Comics, Manga and Graphic Novels and Patricia McCormick for her young adult novel Sold.

The Quills is the first US awards program to honour excellence in publishing and include consumers in the voting process.
