Image A report in this Friday's Guardian highlights experts concerns that the  testing regime in  England's National Curriculum constrains teachers and is having a disasterous effect on pupils' learning.

Martin Johnsom, deputy general secretary of the Association of Teachers and Lecturers argues that

It's important we reskill the profession because if we don't we will eventually lose the capacity to design or think through curriculum issues.
